The Australian Wrestling Federation (AWF) is pumped up and ready for action on Saturday 9 December at the Whitlam Leisure Centre Liverpool, NSW to finish the 2023 season on a high with its final live event for the year, AWF Wrestling Climax 2023. The AWF Wrestling Team is set to deliver a fan friendly, all ages welcome pro-wrestling experience, featuring 7 exciting bouts and surprises aplenty, in a 2 hour plus mega event.
AWF President Goldsteen proclaimed “AWF is going to deliver a gold class wrestling experience to wrestling fans to climax the 2023 season no doubt about it. The AWF team is excited to return to the Whitlam Centre, a venue that hosted some of AWF’s first events all the way back in 1999. I can’t think of a better place to finish 2023. With such a strong card, and so many world class wrestlers appearing, we really can’t wait to see many of Sydney’s wrestling fans come out in force and converge in Liverpool for this Climactic daytime all ages event!”
The 7 bout card itself is set to feature a diverse offering of talents and match types, with many rivalries looking to be settled, and new ones likely to be sparked for 2024. In the main event, the AWF Australasian Championship held by “Viking” EC Browning will be defended against the recently enraged, now former AWF Tag Team Champion, Goran Uriel Nikolov, in a heavyweight championship match that is sure to rock the whole of Liverpool.
The AWF Tag Team Titles will also be on the line, as new AWF Tag Team Champions The Outsider & The Mauler Y, collectively known as “The Outer Realm”, will defend their titles against former Champion DPak Sharma of India, and another former AWF Tag Team Champion, Newcastle’s Harvey Falco, in a bout where The Outer Realm will likely try to win by counting the challengers out of the ring, where the DPak and Falco duo will have to pin the champions to earn the AWF Tag Team Gold.
In other highly anticipated action, two of Australia’s best wrestlers are set to face off in singles competition for the first time, with the highly skilled and hungry Andrew ”Darius” Vega, set to lock up with multi time AWF Champion and Australian Wrestling Legend TNT, in a match that fans will truly appreciate live.
In a card that is overflowing with quality bouts, also part of the card is a Women’s Showdown between USA’s Nikki Poteet and local Southwest Sydney resident Flame, an Anything Goes grudge match after months of built up rivalry between Al Straya and Chris Rukker, plus 2 UK Vs Australia bouts with Tony Sin facing Macarthur’s The Rush, and Axel Strife challenging Whiskey Sixx.
